Now is the time to move forward

Dear friend, you know at the time when the heroic leader of the Israelites was asked to climb the mountain after he had anointed his personal assistant to take charge. They waited for days but the miracle leader did come back. The people wept and wept but their leader did not come back. The people who had been on their journey to the promised land for 40 years but at the edge of victory suddenly lost their miracle leader. Joshua was dumbfounded. A few days ago, everything was fine, as Joshua was filled with the Holy Spirit and wisdom. The whole of Israel has trust and confidence in him. Now he is discouraged and full of fear. But the word of the Lord came to him to tell him it’s time to move forward.

If you are to put yourself in the position of Joshua, perhaps you might have thought, it was something you could quickly fix via war strategy of some kind but would all supposed known methods ever work. The heart of General Joshua was dampened. What was this for goodness sake? His excellency Moses the national leader was nowhere to be found and there is a great river Jordan between their standpoint and the city of Jericho. City Jericho with its insurmountable city wall is the major gateway to the promised land. When the engineer got to look at it, they said the river was not passable at that time of the year.

Time was running out and Joshua knew that something must be done fast. God of Joshua is able to do the task and he appeared to Joshua to remind him in Joshua 1:“No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them” Is that not what we all need? An assurance from a superpower to get the impossible done.

I can imagine how General Joshua would be staring into space, fighting discouragement as the Lord was ministering those words of assurance and comfort to his ears. So Joshua had to start getting things done and in Joshua 110 “Joshua ordered the officers of the people to go through the camp and tell the people, ‘Get your provisions ready. Three days from now you will cross the Jordan here to go in and take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you for your own.’” God was at it again. He worked the same miracle of crossing with Joshua in the river Jordan. Though Jordan was at flood stage, its water from upstream stopped flowing and the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground.

Dear reader, I don’t know what phase of life you are in. I don’t know what’s going on right now with you, but here’s what I want to say to you, keep moving. It’s enough you are still here and that’s something to be grateful for. Don’t be a victim of discouragement, or demotivation. Seeking who to blame for the present state won’t move you forward. Note that as God was with those before us, so He is with us too to give us the expected end. Let’s do our best with what we have while we keep trusting God for wisdom to expand the different areas of our lives.

Don’t play the blame game. It won’t do you any good. Whether it be painful memories from childhood or wrong parenting, whether it be financial lack or past mistakes, there is the will to push past regrets and keep hope alive.

Dearie learning to take responsibility for yourself, developing sound principles, and interacting with the right wisdom, our lives will turn out well.

Just as you know that our fellowship is with the Father and with His son, Jesus Christ. Christ has been made to us wisdom and in Him, all dwells all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Do you now see that our lives have been made beautiful in Christ?

July is a productive month for us! We receive light to step into the plan and purposes of God for our lives.
