The overflowing Greatness

landscape, urban, architecture

Genesis 15 v 15-20 And when Joseph’s brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.

And they sent a messenger unto Joseph saying, Thy father did command before he died saying, so shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin: for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.

And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, behold we be thy servants.

And Joseph said unto them, Fear not; for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me but God meant it unto good to bring to pass as it is this day, to save many people alive.

As you know, Greatness can be in degrees. A Local government chairman is a great man in his Local government, a governor is a great man in his state, a president is a great man in his nation, but when presidents meet, some presidents are more equal than others.

Now think about what people might consider insignificant or those who could be called NOTHING.

In I King 17 v 1 there was a man called Elijah, the Bible says   Elijah the Tishbite of the inhabitant of Gilead, they did not mention his father’s name.
Among the Jews for you to be mentioned and your father’s name omitted it’s a way of saying you are nothing.

However when the Almighty God takes nothing, He can change it to something. He picked Elijah who was considered as nothing and turned him into somebody who can call down fire from heaven.

When we talk about insignificant; I just tell you a story, I heard the story I don’t know whether it’s true or not. A sister in search of a husband; prayed to God; God, just send me someone anyone, and she finished praying. Not long after that a brother in the church came to her and said “thus said the Lord, you are the one I am going to marry”. The sister said “Oh God, I said someone, not something” am sure that explains what am talking about.

But if there is anyone here today who could be regarded as something not someone, my Father will intervene on your behalf in Jesus name.

Then you have who people might call NEXT TO NOTHING. They are not
absolutely nothing but they are not too far from next to nothing.

There was a man in the Bible in Mark 10 v 46 called Bartimeaus the beggar.
Though they mentioned the name of his father; Bartimeaus the son of Timeaus. But he was a beggar, poor, wretched, and blind. So he was next to nothing, but by the time the Almighty God finished with him, he became a center of attraction.

Thus God is He that turned next to nothing to something. And if there is anyone here tonight that could be regarded as next to nothing, before the sun rises my Father will change you to something in Jesus name.

The others are what people might see as A LITTLE. in 1 Samuel 9 v 21, we hear a man talking; his name is Saul, He said; I am a Benjamite of the smallest tribe in Israel and my family is the least of all families in Benjamin.
Everything about him is little; little family, in a little tribe, in a little nation. But the Almighty God poured His oil on him, the one who little became a king.

And I am prophesying to someone here today too, right now you might be a little bit before you die the world will hear about you.

Now, there those the world sees as GREAT. In Genesis 24 v 34-35, someone was speaking and he said I am Abraham’s servant; and the Lord has blessed my master greatly. Abraham was great but how did he become great?

Greatness comes only from God. It is by divine choice. In Genesis 12 v 1-3, God just decided of all the families in the land where Abraham was, He called Abraham out and decided to make him great.

Psalm 115 v3 says our God is in heaven, He does as He pleases. He can choose anyone and make Him great. I have a feeling that He is already looking in this crowd for someone that he will choose.

There are also people you might call VERY GREAT. Isaac was one of such. As we see in Genesis 26 v 1 -13. He sowed in the time of famine and he became very great. Let us discover the secret of his becoming very great. In Genesis 22 v 18, God said to Abraham, I want you to go and sacrifice your son, your only son Isaac which thou loveth.

Isaac was a first fruit sacrifice. He was a young man who was a hundred percent submissive to his father. He was a son who made even a greater sacrifice than his father, because when God told Abraham to go and sacrifice Isaac; it is easy to go and kill somebody else, it is more difficult if you are the one to be killed as a sacrifice.

Isaac made a greater sacrifice than his father and he became greater than his father. As the Lord lives, your blessings shall be greater than that of your father. The Lord said there is someone here tonight, he said those who called you the backward one, will soon call you the foremost one.

Then the EXCEEDINGLY GREAT. In the case of Jacob, Genesis 30 v 40 -43 the man became exceedingly great.

To become exceedingly great requires a special act of the covenant keeping God; because the way that Jacob became exceedingly great could be traced back to Genesis 28 v 10-22 when he was running away from home and had a dream, you remember the dream?

He slept, he saw a ladder going to heaven, angel ascending, descending, and God spoke to him and said I am the God of your father Abraham, not Isaac now, God of your father Abraham. Abraham is the one I had a covenant with and because of that covenant I had with Abraham, I will make you exceedingly great. What was it that God did?

God just gave him an idea, one single idea; if any animal is pregnant and you put this kind of wood before the animal, this is the kind of children the animal will produce. That is the idea! And using that idea, Jacob became exceedingly great.

I can give you several examples of people who are exceedingly great. But remember that greatness is not necessarily a function of material possession; you can have all the money in the world and be useless. There is someone here tonight, when they talk about you, they will say your greatness is an exceeding one.

The final one is OVERFLOWINGLY GREAT;

And the good example for that is Joseph. That is why I read Genesis 50 v 15-20, when God uses a single man to keep the whole world alive, that is overflowing greatness, you see because somebody said; Joseph made Egypt great, because Genesis 41 v 57

The Lord says there is someone here tonight, He said I promise you, I will not let you down.

You know occasionally you go to a meeting and you go to a meeting burdened, because you have a problem that only God can solve and you don’t even see how you can get out of the tight corner in which you find yourself.

And it has happened to me before several years ago; I had a big problem and I didn’t know how I will win the battle, it was a tough battle. And so we were going to have a program in London and somebody was going to speak before I speak, and I just kept crying within me; Lord speak to me I want to hear from You.

And the man got up and was talking on something and all of a sudden he branched off and said that brethren, do you know that, the summary of the book of revelation is that at last we win.

And I know that is God is talking to me. At last I win! And God has spoken to me again tonight and He may have spoken to somebody else too.

But God is saying I promise you, I will not let you down. Daddy says there is someone here tonight, He said I assure you, you will not stop rising.

Overflowing greatness can only come to you by the act of God who gives visions and fulfill them. When God gives you a vision, if it’s a vision from God it is not likely to make sense. It will be so big, it will not make human sense, but if it’s from God, it will come to pass.

So I am saying to all my children; particularly those of you with big dreams, don’t let the dreams die because they shall come to pass.

The conclusion of the matter is that the greatest secret of overflowing greatness is Holiness. God who is the ultimate Author of greatness is a holy God. If you ask Him, Almighty God gives us just one word by which you want to be known?

It is the word HOLY. The angels keep crying holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. They have been crying it before the world began and they are still crying it right now. The only song God wants to hear is  –  Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty.

That is why I am appealing to every one of us believing God for the kind of greatness that will overflow, the greatness that will turn you into a blessing, not just to people in your local government but to people all over the world.

You must be holy, that is it. That is the MASTER KEY; it opens the door to every other thing. If only you are determined to be holy, and if you are determined to be holy, God will make it possible.

Holiness is very easy. Holiness as far as you are concern is simple, just obey God,  that is all. Obey Him in everything, when He asks you to sit down, sit down. Stand up; stand up. Witness; witness. Follow up, do it.
Give your offering cheerfully; give it. Pay your tithe; pay all.
Honor me with your first fruit, go ahead, and do it.
Holiness simply means obedience.

That is why I have no problem with Holiness, I just obey my Commander in Chief and I have seen the results and I am telling you, you go into a life of holiness, and very soon the world will know that the Almighty God can turn nothing to something.

He can take next to nothing; the lunch of a boy and turn it into something that can feed thousands with leftovers. He can take little in a single night and promote that little to become a king. And when he chooses you to be great, nobody can stop you.

Definitely, if your making is of God, no human being can break you. Am believing God for every one of you who are here tonight, in the Name that is above every other name, in the name of my God, the Lord Jesus Christ; you shall be overflowingly great.

Thus, if you are here tonight and you have not yet given your life to Jesus Christ, you have not started the journey to greatness, your sins must be gone before God can say alright now, let’s begin to move you to greatness.

So if you are here and you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ and you want to do so, so we can pray for the salvation of your soul and your greatness can begin.

Begin to come now and talk to the Almighty God; ask Him to please have mercy on you, save your soul, wash you clean in his blood and promise him from now on you will follow him, you will serve him and you will do His will all the days of your life.

The rest of us will you please stretch your hands towards these people and pray for them, ask that the One who saves your soul will save their souls also.

Let’s pray for them that the Almighty God, the Ancient of days will be merciful to each and every one of them and wash them clean in His blood today.

Please intercede for them, that all their sins will be gone, that every sin that could stand between them and greatness, that the blood of Jesus will wash away even sin tonight.

Father Almighty, we want to thank you, Ancient of days we give you all glory and honor for your word.

Please accept our thanks in Jesus name, we are committing, these your children that have come, to your hands; please receive them in Jesus name, save their souls in Jesus name, with the power that is in your blood my Father and my God, wash them clean in Jesus name.

Write their names in the book of life and I pray Lord God Almighty that they will serve you for the rest of their lives in Jesus’ name.
Thank you, my Father and my Lord, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.

I am rejoicing with you today and I want to promise you that from now on I will be praying for you, so I am going to need your name your address, and your prayer request, I promise that I will be praying for you.
